ONEROA COUNTRY WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

The Oneroa Institute was set up in 1948. As with Surfdale, the Museum’s records of its early years are fairly sparse, though its initial banner, a yellow bird sitting on a flowering Pohutukawa branch painted on blue felt, is in the collection. The year 1948 appears on the banner, but this probably refers to the year the Institute was established. not the year the banner was made.
